Glerhallavík
Glerhallavík is a cove under the cliffs of Tindastól on Reykjaströnd in Skagafjörður. It is known for the glass cliffs that used to be there on the shore, which are quartz hole fillings that have been loosened from the rock and are worn away by the surf on the shore. The hike starts at the Reykir guesthouse. You hike to Glerhallavík and back. You drive to Reykir on Reykjaströnd, go down fields and abandoned farms down to Sandvík, and then walk under the banks out to Glerhallavík. The hike is partly a rocky beach so you need good footwear. It is ideal to go to Grettislaug after the hike and enjoy. Rock picking is absolutely prohibited.
