Alþýðulist Gallery

Alþýðulist Gallery is a handicraft shop in Varmahlíð, Skagafjörður. For over 30 years, we have sold handmade Icelandic products made by local craftspeople.

Members of Alþýðulist, a handicraft association in Skagafjörður, make all kinds of items—large and small—from natural materials such as wool, horsehair, wood, bone, horns, leather and fish skin.

Of particular note is the selection of sweaters designed by the association’s members, named “Under the Blue Sky” and “Under the Grey Sky”. Matching hats and mittens are also available. These sweaters have proved very popular with visitors from all over the world.

We also offer a wide selection of other beautiful sweaters, along with lovely handicrafts.

We place great emphasis on quality workmanship, Icelandic tradition and beautiful craftsmanship.

Rúnalist Gallery

Rúnalist Gallery creates products from materials sourced on the farm, including hides, wool and horns. Products straight from the farm, along with animal viewing, such as the Icelandic Settlement Goat.
